It’s the most wonderful time of year, if you like Christmas that is, and Blizzard does its best to recognize this sacred time in the calendar by regaling Overwatch fans with the annual Winter Wonderland event.

With it comes special limited-time modes containing Christmassy themes, special skins that can only be obtained in this period, as well as unique challenges to complete too.

One of Overwatch 2’s Winter Wonderland 2022 challenges players to pull off a tricky feat during a game of Snowball Deathmatch, and we’ve got all the details below for you.

How to complete the Caught in a Cold challenge in Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland

The Caught in a Cold challenge asks players to catch 6 snowballs in Snowball Deathmatch to earn themselves the Junker Queen Ornament Spray, as well as 1500 XP. To do this, you’ll need to utilize speed, reflexes, and good timing to complete this Overwatch 2 challenge.

This isn’t quite as easy as it appears from the outset, with some patience and practice, you should become a Major League Baseball-level fielder when it comes to catching Snowballs during the Winter Wonderland event in Overwatch 2.

Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Load up Overwatch 2 and get to the game’s main menu.
  2. Hop into a game of Snowball Deathmatch.
  3. Find an enemy.
  4. Quickly throw away all your own Snowballs, and wait until an opponent launches a Snowball at you.
  5. Try and leave a reasonable amount of distance between you and the player to give yourself more time to react.
  6. Once the Snowball gets very close to you, simply press R3 on PlayStation, RS on Xbox, Right Stick on Nintendo Switch, or the applicable melee button keybind on PC.
  7. Make sure you’re looking dead at the player/Snowball too to ensure the action will work.

You may not get this right the first couple of times, or maybe more, but once you get the hang of how it works, you should have no problem getting your six Snowball catches.
