Overwatch 2 has launched its Summer Games 2023 event and Lucioball is one of the main features of its newest update. Sadly, players reported a game-breaking bug that makes the mode completely unplayable. Check out what’s happening with the Lucioball game mode in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 has released its Summer Games 2023 update, where two new game modes are the main attraction for the event. While players enjoy goofing off with Winston’s Volleyball, they also reported a massive bug with the Lucioball mode.

Lucioball was first introduced to Overwatch in Summer Games 2016 and became quite popular among fans. This game mode plays out almost like Rocket League, where you can experiment with Lucio’s mobility while jumping with jump pads and trying to hit giant metallic balls.

This is the first time Lucioball has launched in the Overwatch 2 era and fans have been disappointed by the game-breaking bug that renders the whole experience useless. “I waited all year for this mode, and it’s woefully disappointing. I can’t see how this bug would have moved past a single game of play testing,” said Reddit user Minddistorter.

According to player reports, the glitch appears when both the player and the ball are on the ground and Lucio tries to boop it. When this happens, the ball is either completely frozen on the ground or it barely moves.

“I felt like I was going crazy when this first happened to me. Between this, no Copa, and the Gold ball in Remix being bugged as well, this is a pretty disappointing first time for Lucioball in OW2,” said Reddit user Lc3_max in the Overwatch subreddit.

Overwatch 2 players are hoping that this bug is fixed before the Summer Games 2023 event ends on July 24, so they can at least enjoy a couple of weekends playing the Lucioball game mode.
