Warzone’s XM4 Assault Rifle has been described as a “controller player gun, ” and Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has explained why these players have the upper hand.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s ever-changing and evolving meta continues to undergo changes as Raven Software’s subtle tweaks and tinkering shape the gunplay. The days of one weapon ruling the lands seem to be a distant memory as any time a new contender puts up its gloves, Raven knocks them down with logical buffs.

The Nail Gun and MG 82 had their time to shine at the beginning of Season 4, and the FARA 83 has experienced a resurgence too. But at this moment, the XM4 Assault Rifle is proving to be a formidable weapon, and NICKMERCS has explained why it’s so good, and why controller players get the most out of it.

NICKMERCS discussed the recent XM4’s extra update that was rolled out and commented that it “has been one of my favorite guns to use in the game, period. But especially on Rebirth Island, as you can pair it with a Kar98 sniper, it’s a great Overkill snipe class.

“MP5, MP7, P90, AS Val, nah. XM4 beautiful, trust me.” He has nothing but positive things to say about the XM4 which has consistently been a solid option throughout Warzone’s history.

He elaborated on his liking for the XM4 and how adaptable it is saying: “one of my favorite things about this XM4 class is the mobility. I think being a controller player this is one of those times where I have to understand that aim assist probably works towards the advantage of a weapon.”

He went on to describe the importance of strafe speed in Warzone, and how it affects the game: “Listen, there’s a lot of guns in Warzone that have a good amount of strafe speed. So any gun where you’re moving left to right or horizontally with good strafe speed you know aim assist is going to be a big part of that.

Nick finishes off by saying: “believe me when I tell you that this is more so a controller player gun.”

Aim assist has always caused dissension between console and PC players as it can sometimes be too strong to compensate for the freedom offered by a mouse and the slight rigidness of controller aiming.

There’s no doubting that the XM4 is a more than viable option across all forms of Warzone, and its aim assist makes it an even more potent weapon.
