Mortal Kombat 1 players furious as Peacemaker gets delayed: “What a joke”

Mortal Kombat announced the official release date of Peacemaker, but fans are unhappy that they’re having to wait for the new fighter even longer than originally expected.

Peacemaker is the next DLC fighter coming to Mortal Kombat 1, and he is set to release on February 28. After a long while of fans waiting to hear more about when the new fighter was going to drop, NetherRealm Studios finally gave them a date.

However, players are not happy about the announcement. In previous seasons, Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters have arrived with the new season. Following the announcement, the in-game timer for the new season got extended.

As ‘MistahJ17’ pointed out on Reddit, “Literally just yesterday, the season had only eight days left. Now it got extended by two weeks. What a joke.”

Fans in the comments showed a similar feeling toward the announcement. The issue wasn’t necessarily the delay, but the lack of communication before the sudden decision to delay the release of Peacemaker in Mortal Kombat 1

“I just wish they’d say something, even if they just apologized for the delay I’d at least respect them for communicating with us, the studio seems allergic to any form of communication in the slightest right now,” a player commented under the post.

More fans in the comments were getting tired of the season, which has now been going on for nearly three months. The overarching theory is that the delay has come because NetherRealm Studios focused on fixing desync.

“NRS fumbled here because judging by fate words, they spent too much time and resources on fixing desync issue instead of making season with peacemaker and crossplay,” a player commented.
