MLB The Show 24 is just around the corner for players who have pre-ordered any of the game’s special editions. While the new game developed by Sony is not exclusive in PlayStation consoles, the devs have prepared the return of the Celebration Series, an exclusive PlayStation 5 event that offers many free rewards.

These tournaments take place over a weekend but during those four days, players give it their all on the diamond to lift the trophy and claim the rewards. Take a look at everything you need to know about MLB The Show 24 Celebration Series as well as how to play the Coach Classic tournament.

MLB The Show 24 Celebration Series explained

The MLB The Show 24 Celebration Series is a classic program in the baseball franchise that features a few special weekend tournaments celebrating some real-life events like the MLB Draft or the All-Star week. During these events, MLB The Show 24 players will be able to compete and win a lot of rewards.

San Diego Studios have confirmed that the MLB The Show 24 Celebration Series will feature six weekend tournaments during 2024. These tournaments will be played under the same format and schedule, although their rewards will change as the MLB The Show 24 seasons progress.

Here are all the tournaments in the MLB The Show 24 Celebration Series:

  • Celebration 1 – Coach Classic: April 12-15
  • Celebration 2 – Moonshot Pursuit: June 14-17
  • Celebration 3 – All-Star Week: July 12-16
  • Celebration 4 – Draft 2024: July 17-21
  • Celebration 5 – Seventh Inning Stretch: August 23-26
  • Celebration 6 – Gopher Ball: November 8-11

The developers revealed that the format of the daily tournaments will remain the same: a 16-player bracket with 3-inning matches played as best-of-one.

Meanwhile, the weekend tournaments saw an increase in participants, as now up to 32 players per tournament can participate with 3-inning matches played as best-of-one, doubling the capacity of previous editions (16).

How to play Coach Classic tournament in MLB The Show 24

To participate in the MLB The Show 24 Celebration Series you must play the game on PlayStation 5 and have a Diamond Dynasty team. If you already have both, you can go to the Play tab and navigate to Online Modes, where you’ll find the Tournaments option to participate.
