Madden 25 platforms

The game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch players will once again be left out, as the game is not coming to the platform.

Game modes

This year’s title features all of the traditional Madden game modes including Ultimate Team, Franchise, Superstar, and Head-to-Head (H2H).

Players can expect to dive into a revamped Franchise Mode, including Team Builder popularized by CFB25, a renewed emphasis on Draft Night, and the new Dynamic Storylines mechanic.

The Dynamic Storylines feature will give you scenarios to manage through the season. Handle the issues well and they could hugely boost your team’s morale. However, an ineffective management style could lead to poor player performance on the field.

The revamped Franchise Mode is expected to take immersion and decision-making to another level.

Madden 25 cover athlete

Christian McCaffrey is the cover athlete for the Standard and Deluxe editions. The Running Back had an outstanding 2023/24 season which saw him lead the 49ers to their 8th Super Bowl and win the Offensive Player of the Year award.

It’s no surprise that McCaffrey is an elite member of the exclusive 99-Club, but if you want to find out more about the top players in the game check out our ratings guide.

Will Madden 25 be on Game Pass?

The game will not be available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog at launch. However, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play a 10-hour trial of the game through EA Play.

We expect the full game to be available for all GP Ultimate subscribers 6 months after its release. This follows the release pattern for Madden 23 and 24. Both games joined the catalog through EA Play size months after their initial release and Madden 25 could follow suit.

Is Madden 25 crossplay?

Madden NFL 25 will have crossplay across all game modes on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This means that players on these platforms will be able to play with or against friends who have the game on another platform.

As with most games, this feature is optional, so you can choose whether to participate in the crossplay matchmaking pool or limit yourself to facing players on your own platform. Crossplay is not supported on last-gen platforms like PS4 and Xbox One.

Lastly, EA highlighted that if you opt into the crossplay matchmaking pool, you’ll notice significantly shorter wait times for finding matches compared to only playing against players on your platform.

Don’t forget that you can transfer your College Football 25 Road to Glory save to Madden’s Superstar mode and continue your journey from elite prospect to Super Bowl champion.
