In Madden 24, you can take advantage of a wide range of skill moves to gain advantages both in offense and defense. We’ve covered all you need to know in order to perform a slide in Madden 24, including the inputs and some tips to keep in mind.

Madden 24 offers a wide range of skill moves that will help you in every game situation. However, there are certain moves like jukes or hard cuts that don’t happen automatically, so you’ll need to use the input commands.

Some of the most difficult inputs require a series of movements and buttons, while others, like sliding, simply require using a few buttons.

If you don’t know how to slide in Madden 24, here’s the button sequence you need to press to gain some extra yards on your upcoming drives.

Madden 24: How to slide

The slide input is one of the easiest in Madden 24, as you just need to double-tap the dive button (Square on PlayStation and X on Xbox controllers).

The first tip to keep in mind is to make sure you press the button twice in quick succession. If you delay, your player will dive forward in a head-first dive.

The slide will help your player gain extra yards while they’re running, but you also need to consider the timing of when to perform a slide. If you execute a slide too close to opposing defenders, your player will become vulnerable to a tackle.

After executing a slide, your player will end up upside down.

Another thing to consider is the animation of the slide. The player carrying the ball and performing the movement will slide and rotate their body on the ground, ending up flat on their stomach, as shown in the image above.

However, you should keep in mind where the first down marker is placed, as a miscalculation could lead to falling just inches short of the line.

Now you know how to perform slides in Madden 24 and when to pull them off. If you’re interested in learning more about Madden 24, we recommend checking out our other related guides.
