The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom introduces a number of useful abilities to help Link navigate Hyrule, including the Recall feature. Here’s a look a what the Recall ability does in Tears of the Kingdom and how to use it.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is finally here as one of 2023’s most-anticipated releases arrived on May 12.

TOTK expands on the gameplay of Breath of the Wild with new abilities such as Fuse and Ultrahand. Another one of these new additions is the Recall ability, which should make Link’s journey around Hyrule much easier.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Recall ability in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

What is Recall ability in Tears of the Kingdom?

Recall works as a rewind feature that sends an item back in time, retracing its steps and returning it to the state or location it started in. This gives players the opportunity to further manipulate the map to access hard-to-reach places or solve puzzles in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

For example, the Recall ability could be used on pieces of rock that had fallen from sky islands to the ground below. At the push of a button, large boulders can slowly fly back into the air, allowing Link access to an area that would otherwise be impossible to reach.

Recall joins Fuse, Ultrahand, and Ascend as the new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to use Recall in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To use Recall in Tears of the Kingdom all players have to do is equip the ability by holding L and opting for Recall, then they must aim at an object and interact with the object as it turns yellow by pressing A. Doing so will immediately reverse the most recent actions of that object over a limited window of time.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the Recall ability only reverses time for the object it is applied to and doesn’t alter the rest of the map or cause enemies to respawn.
