Is there Proximity Chat in Apex Legends?

Apex Legends is filled with user-friendly features and has pioneered several innovations that other battle royale titles now include, but has Respawn’s shooter welcomed Proximity Chat into the fold as of Season 18?

Apex Legends Season 18 brought a ton of changes to Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale title, including a Revenant rework and numerous weapon buffs and nerfs. Now, players are wondering if the seasonal update also added Proximity Chat in the game.

Proximity Chat allows players to talk with each other once they get within a specific range of each other on the battlefield. Thanks to Escape From Tarkov, and more recently Warzone 2, it is becoming a bigger and more sought-after deal by the second.

The added audio element is making online games feel more alive and closely connected than ever before, so it begs the question, does Apex Legends follow suit?

Does Apex Legends have Proximity Chat?

No, Apex Legends does not have Proximity Chat in Season 18. Despite the constant pleas from players to join in the recent trend, for the time being at least, Respawn Entertainment have not implemented this feature.

The Hero-based battle royale shooter makes use of basic voice chat and party chat to allow teammates to communicate with each other, but there is no form of Proximity Chat to be found in the game.

Apex Legends does not currently feature Proximity Chat.

Again, with some of the most popular battle royale competitors providing this service, it could potentially cause players to drift to other alternatives that do offer Proximity Chat.

Apex Legends fans can dream because although Warzone 2 launched with Proximity Chat, Fortnite did not. The feature was only implemented later on, meaning that the same treatment could happen for Apex Legends.
