Follow these steps to get Mew in Pokemon Sword and Shield through an additional accessory called Pokeball Plus:

  1. Purchase a Pokeball Plus through a store or a verified seller online. Its price and availability depend upon the region you’re in.
  2. Connect the Pokeball Plus to your Nintendo Switch through the console’s USB port.
  3. Launch Pokemon Sword and Shield and press X to open the main menu. Select Mystery Gift.
  4. Choose Take a Stroll with Pokeball Plus and then follow the on-screen commands. You’ll be asked to tap the button on the red side of the Pokeball Plus.
  5. A prompt saying that there’s a present for you in the Pokeball Plus will appear. Select A to accept the gift and it will be Mew!

Pokemon Home is your safest bet if you want to get Mew in Pokemon Sword and Shield without the Pokeball Plus. The cloud-based service allows you to transfer and manage your Pokemon from any core-series game.
