Milotic is a very sought-after Pokemon that’ll make its way into Scarlet and Violet soon, so here’s everything you need to know about its weaknesses and resistances.

Milotic is a very powerful Pokemon usually associated with Contests in mainline games. Evolving Feebas into Milotic can be a hassle in some games, but the result is a very strong ally with powerful Stats. Milotic is sometimes considered a Gyarados counterpart for their many similarities.

While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have to wait until the DLC releases to get Milotic, trainers playing other games might need some help trying to take it down.

If you’re looking for the best way to defeat Milotic in Pokemon games, here’s everything you need to know about its weaknesses and resistances.

What type is Milotic in Pokemon?

Milotic is a pure Water-type Pokemon. Its design makes it look like a dragon, which is why many trainers are confused when trying to land super-effective attacks on it.

Milotic is usually associated with beauty and was introduced in Gen 3 alongside the Contest dynamic.

All Milotic weaknesses in Pokemon

As a pure Water-type Pokemon, Milotic is weak against Grass and Electric-type moves. When trying to defeat it in battle, you should stick to those categories.

It’s also worth noting that Milotic has had a very high Sp. Defense Stat since its first appearance in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. So you should try to use physical attacks when possible for maximum damage.

All Milotic resistances in Pokemon

As a pure Water-type Pokemon, Milotic can resist Steel, Fire, Water, and Ice-type attacks.

In mainline games, Milotic can have interesting Abilities that can play a big role in battles. The Marvel Scale Ability increases Milotic’s Defense by 50% when induced with a status like Burn or Sleep. The Competitive Ability raises its Sp. Attack Stat whenever a Stat is lowered, which can be extremely dangerous.

As you can see, there isn’t anything too tricky about Milotic, except for a handful of Abilities in mainline games. So expert trainers shouldn’t have any problem defeating it in battle.

Now you can face and defeat Milotic without much trouble in games like Pokemon Sword and Shield or Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond.
