As fans eagerly await news on the highly-anticipated GTA 6, one insider has claimed that Rockstar’s next installment in the popular franchise is in “development hell.”

There is a ton of speculation and hype around Rockstar’s GTA 6. We have seen various leaks and rumors regarding things like the storyline and release date, but the developers have yet to confirm much about its arrival.

Now, it seems that Grand Theft Auto fans may have an extremely long wait for any updates, as a new insider report is claiming that the game is facing major development issues that have delayed its production.

According to a report from DSOG, Rockstar Mag’s Chris Liberty is claiming that the GTA 6 development is not turning out as planned. The game’s story has apparently been rewritten multiple times since 2019.

There have reportedly been various issues since the departure of Dan Houser from Rockstar. Take-Two planned to announce the game back in 2020, but there still hasn’t been a first look at it.

In a video, Liberty explains these problems to fans while answering any questions that pop up regarding GTA 6. When using the YouTube auto-translation, he describes the problems being faced by Rockstar.

One user brought up the rumor that GTA 6 has been planned since late 2014 and asked if there have been some serious problems in the game’s development. Liberty claimed this was correct, saying:

“It has been confirmed to me, and I can’t go into details. To date, this is the most chaotic project of Rockstar since their creation.”

He also addressed the GTA 6 development problems in another Q&A video. One commenter brought up how reluctant Rockstar have been to give out any major information to fans about GTA 6.

The user then asked Liberty if he thinks the game will be a flop. He stated that the reason Rockstar hasn’t been giving out information is because their plans for a reveal keep changing.

“They can’t disseminate information because it’s a hassle, and the only thing I can tell you is that just at the scenario level, they have changed it several times since 2014.”

Now, it’s worth keeping in mind that this information has yet to be confirmed by Rockstar Games themselves. So, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt until we hear something official.

At the time of writing, there is no telling when exactly we should expect to hear from the developers about GTA 6’s development. Some earlier reports stated that we might get a trailer later in November.

Hopefully, we’ll get some news regarding the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series soon. Until then, fans can still enjoy GTA V’s next-gen console remaster when it arrives in March 2022.
