In Stardew Valley, you can find Gus working at The Stardrop Saloon in Pelican Town, which opens from 12 PM until 12:30 AM every day. After the Beach Resort on Ginger Island is unlocked, Gus will also randomly spend a day there.

Gus’ birthday in Stardew Valley is in Fall 4. Keep in mind that if you gift Gus something he likes on his birthday, it will have eight times more of the effect compared to normal days, and will trigger a unique dialogue with the NPC.

Gus will tell you about his problems with Pam in one of his events.
You can trigger one of his Heart Events by simply visiting him at the Saloon.
  • Three hearts: Gus will send you the “Salmon Dinner” recipe in the mail just as you reach a three-heart friendship with him.
  • Four hearts: If you enter the Saloon during open hours, you’ll find Gus sitting at one of the tables. After asking what’s wrong, he’ll confess that the Saloon is having financial troubles and that it will be helpful if Pam starts paying her tab. Just as he describes this, Pam will enter and ask for a drink on her tab. If you choose to tell her that the Saloon isn’t doing well, Pam will pay her tab off, which will add +15 friendship with Gus.
  • Five hearts: Gus will appear with a pot of sauce outside your house, on any non-rainy day between 6 AM and 11:30 AM. He’ll then give you an old Mini-Jukebox and the recipe to craft more of them.
  • Seven hearts: Gus will send you the “Cranberry Sauce” recipe after reaching seven hearts with him.
