Valorant Episode 6 Act 2 has come to an end, and the entire community is already submerged into Episode 7 Act 2. The devs have given some hints about the objectives of the Valorant 7.04 update, like Jett’s nerf or the new map addition, as well as a new map rotation for the Competitive map pool.

However, this is not the only major change. Riot Games aim to shift the meta in Valorant by increasing game state clarity. To achieve this, the devs have announced a significant number of adjustments to Agent abilities, as well as an increase in Ultimate costs.

Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about the Valorant 7.04 update, including the Agent balances, Jett’s nerf, the new Sunset map, and the patch notes.

Jett nerf in Valorant 7.04 update

Jett in Valorant
Riot aims to reduce Jett’s utility abilities in Valorant 7.04 update.

Finally, after much anticipation, the devs will implement a significant nerf to Jett. The Agent had been nerfed in the 4.05 update; however, Riot acknowledged that the results have not been as expected.

That’s why they aim to reduce her utility abilities further in the 7.04 update, to make her have less impact in matches. The devs nerfed Jett’s dashes as well as the smoke ability. Check out every single change on Jett:

  • Tailwind [E]:
    • Dash window decreased from 12s to 7.5s
    • Activation windup increased from 0.75s to 1s
  • Cloudburst [C]:
    • Duration decreased from 4.5s to 2.5
    • [Now] Time to re-equip gun takes slightly longer after using the ability
  • Updraft [Q]:
    • Charges decreased from 2 to 1
  • Blade Storm [X]:
    • Ultimate points increased from 7 to 8

Map updates in Valorant 7.04 patch

Riot Games announced two major changes in the Valorant 7.04 update: The first thing they mentioned was the arrival of the new map Sunset, and the second major change is tied to the return of Breeze to competitive rotation instead of Fracture and Pearl.

Sunset is inspired by the city of Los Angeles, and some are already labeling it as the “most beautiful” map due to its sunset setting with high-quality lighting and shadows. Riot announced that Sunset will be coming to the competitive map rotation in the Valorant 7.05 update.
