Getting Sims to pose as you wish is possible thanks to mods, so here’s everything you need to get to start taking your favorite pictures with original animations in The Sims 4.

The Sims 4 has some great features to take pictures of your favorite Sims and households, but it has very limited options for their poses. Luckily, the huge mod creator community has come through with extra content, which will get your Sims posing better than some real-life models.

If you’re wondering how to use pose players in The Sims 4, here’s what you need to do.

How to install Pose mods in The Sims 4

The most popular pose mod in The Sims 4 is the Pose Player from Andrew’s Studio. Here’s how to install it:

  1. Go to Sims4Studio, Andrew’s Studio’s official webpage.
  2. Download the mod, which will come as a zip file. Extract it in this location: “Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 > Mods.”
  3. Open your game, go to “Game Options,” and then to the “Other” tab.
  4. Check the “Enable Custom Content and Mods,” and “Script Mods Allowed” options.
  5. Restart your game for the changes to take effect.

You’ll need to download Pose packs after installing Andrew’s Studios mod.

After installing the Pose player, you’ll have to download poses for your Sims to use. You can try getting some from the Sims4Studios forums, and they all should be labeled as “Pose Packs.”

How to use Pose player mod in The Sims 4

After installing the Pose player in The Sims 4, you can load any household and select the Sim you’d like to have posed. When you click on that Sim, you’ll see two options pop up: “Pose by Pack,” and “Pose by Name.

Choose a pose, and the Sim will hold that pose in the exact spot they were standing when the action was selected. You can then take photographs, film them, or command other sims to paint their pictures.

If you want them to stop posing, you can simply click on your Sims again and choose the “Stop Posing” option.

How to pose two or more Sims

Some poses are meant to be used for two or more sims. To use them, you’ll need to download and install the Teleport Any Sim mod. After getting it, here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Download and install the “Teleport Any Sim” mod.
  2. Load your Sims’ household.
  3. Go into Buy Mode, and look for the “Sim Teleporter Destination” object, which will appear as a white knight statue under Decorations> Misc.
  4. Place two or more of these objects on top of each other in the same spot.
  5. Return to Live Mode, click on the Sim Teleporter Destination, and choose “Teleport a Sim Here“.
  6. Select the Sim you want in the pose. After getting all Sims in the same spot, choose the “Pose by Pack” option and select the poses.

You can use the “Sim Teleporter Destination” to summon any Sim you want in your pictures.

Keep in mind that Sims have to be teleported in the exact same spot or the pose won’t work correctly. Once you finished taking your Sims pictures, you can select the “Stop Posing” option to get them back to normal.
