Konami revealed that Metal Gear Solid 3 will officially be getting a remake during the PlayStation showcase on May 24, 2023. Fans of the series have been awaiting an announcement like this, especially as Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is one of the most loved titles in the franchise.
With a slight name change to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, an announcement trailer blew the socks off watchers, leaving many wanting to know more about the upcoming remake from Konami.

Does Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater have a release date?
Konami has not revealed an official release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, as at the end of the announcement trailer, the only hint we got was that the remake is “coming.”
While we do not know the release date for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake as of right now, we can speculate that it will unlikely to be released until 2024 at the earliest.
As more information about its release date is revealed, we’ll be sure to update this piece so stay tuned.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater platforms
While the PlayStation Showcase announcement trailer only mentioned that it was “coming to PS5,” it was confirmed shortly after that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC when it launches.
This is great news for those on Xbox and PC, as the 2004 original Metal Gear Solid 3 was actually a PlayStation 2 exclusive that was later released on Xbox 360 two years later.
It doesn’t look like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be available on PS4 or Xbox One, but if any news is released regarding a previous-gen release, we’ll update this section.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater story & gameplay details
The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake will feature the “same gripping story and engrossing world” as the original, but now with “cutting-edge graphics and 3D audio.”
Fans can expect a faithful remake, with the same stealth-orientated gameplay which sees players uncovering the “origin story of Snake.” That said, the devs are working on “evolving the gameplay with stunning visuals and a seamless user experience.”

The faithful remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 was revealed on May 24, 2023, during the PlayStation Showcase. It was revealed with an announcement trailer, which didn’t show gameplay, but instead, a cinematic that ended with a look at the Big Boss, also known as Snake.
