Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League story & setting

Metropolis in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s Metropolis has seen better days.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set in Rocksteady’s ‘Arkhamverse.’ This means that the game exists in the same universe as the studio’s prior titles including Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight. But instead of controlling the Caped Crusader, players take the reins of Task Force X, also known as the Suicide Squad.

Composed of villains including Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark, the squad is dropped into Metropolis which has been ravaged due to an invasion by Brainiac. The futuristic city is effectively a war zone with all of its citizens either dead or corrupted by Brainiac. To complicate matters further, even the Justice League has been corrupted and is now doing Brainiac’s bidding.

Throughout the main story, Task Force X will take on members of the Justice League in high-octane boss battles. Their ultimate objective, as the game’s title suggests, is to kill the Justice League.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s gameplay is deeply rooted in third-person shooter-style combat. All four playable characters have their own arsenal of weapons including a unique iconic melee attack. The combat itself blends together gunplay and melee combat with the end result being fast-paced encounters against hordes of enemies.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League also places plenty of emphasis on traversal. Metropolis is twice the size of Arkham Knight’s Gotham City meaning it’s an even bigger playground for players to wreak havoc in. Thanks to some freshly looted gizmos from the Hall of Justice, all four characters can scale buildings and glide around the city with ease.

The core gameplay loop will feature some RPG mechanics as players can tinker and upgrade their gear including armor, weapons, and more.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League co-op details

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League can be played solo or with up to four players in online co-op. In fact, players can blow through the entire game either solo or with some friends. The game also supports full cross-platform and cross-progression play for online co-op.
