Ichiban Kasuga’s story continues from Yakuza 7 in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, but fans wonder if the new adventure in Hawaii is a DLC or a full game.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the next chapter of the Yakuza series, and Ichiban’s adventures continue in Hawaii. With many returning characters shown in the game’s trailer, fans wonder if the new content will be a full game or a DLC.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is the franchise’s last release and a 2023 stand-alone game that helps new players catch up with Kazuma Kiryu’s story. As a short game, it could’ve been a DLC, so where does Ichiban’s new adventure fall into?

Here’s whether Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a DLC or not.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – Is it DLC?

No, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is not a DLC, as it stands as the eighth entry in the long line of Yakuza games. The new release in the series is a full game that features the return of Kazuma Kiryu as a main character alongside Ichiban Kasuga, the series’ new protagonist.

Kazuma Kiryu will stand beside Ichiban Kasuga in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

The game will be turn-based just like Yakuza 7, and located in Hawaii, breaking the long-time tradition of the series being held in Japanese cities. For the first time, fans of the Yakuza series will experience Ryu Ga Gotoku’s take on the RPG genre outside of Japan.
