Lords of the Fallen is a new souls-like game serving as the successor to the 2014 title of the same name. The game retains the punishing combat of its predecessor while adding some interesting new features. Here’s how to preload Lords of the Fallen and the game’s size.

Lords of the Fallen hits shelves on October 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Developed by Hexworks, the souls-like title takes place in a gothic world bearing dark fantasy themes typically associated with FromSoftware titles. Being an RPG, Lords of the Fallen packs in many different classes, all offering a different approach to character creation.

The game also features a new parallel worlds mechanic allowing players to switch between the realm of the living (Axiom) and the realm of the dead (Umbral) using a magical lantern. Both worlds come with their own puzzles and challenges and should spice up the gameplay.

For players eager to jump into the game’s gothic setting, here’s how to preload Lords of the Fallen, and the game’s size.

How to preload Lords of the Fallen

Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can download the game by locating it in their games library, or by going to Lords of the Fallen’s digital store page. At the moment, there is no news on a preload option for PC players.

Lords of the Fallen will be available for preload starting midnight on October 11 in your local timezone.

Lords of the Fallen: Game file size

Lords of the Fallen will take up around 33GB of space on your drives.

The number is sure to surprise many as most modern AAA titles have hefty space requirements. The game is built using Unreal Engine 5, so it’ll be interesting to learn if the engine helps in the file compression in any way.
