Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Spider-Verse Easter egg explained

The Spider-Verse Easter egg in Spider-Man 2 comes in the form of a cutscene. It kicks off with a purple-colored hexagonal portal opening up on a wall. Standing on the other end is Delilah, a bartender who was originally set to appear in ‘Across The Spider-Verse.’ The character eventually ended up on the cutting floor but managed to make it into Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2.

Delilah is a bartender at ‘The Bar With No Name.’

Delilah is animated using the Spider-Verse movies’ distinct style, including the 12 frames-per-second movement. She offers some sarcastic comments before quickly taking away all the Spider-Bots. She then goes on to mention Miguel, who serves as Spider-Man 2099 in ‘Across The Spider-Verse.’ The cutscene ends with either Miles or Peter asking “Who’s Miguel,” but only receiving a sarcastic chuckle in response.

The interaction basically connects Insomniac’s Spider-Man games with the Spider-Verse cannon, opening up the door to Spider-Verse content in the future. It also marks the first direct interaction between characters from both universes. Hopefully, we’ll see Insomniac delve further into the Spider-Verse in future titles or expansions.
