Helldivers 2 platforms

Helldivers 2 will be available on PS5 and PC. There is no word on an Xbox release for the game but it remains unlike as the first title also skipped Microsoft consoles, and the game is being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Helldivers 2 story & setting

Helldivers 2 is set in a dystopian world, where a fictional iteration of Earth titled ‘Super Earth’ is facing hostile invaders from all parts of the galaxy. The game’s universe is in a state of galactic war, and it’s on the Helldivers to protect their home.

This elite peacekeeping force is tasked with landing on alien planets and eliminating hordes of hostile creatures. Helldivers are also asked to retrieve bits of technology during their missions. The game’s general tone is laced with political satire, with themes of ‘spreading democracy’ present throughout.

Helldivers 2’s gameplay is rooted in third-person shooter-style combat. The core experience revolves around landing on different planets and fighting their inhabitants. The combat areas are significantly larger than the first game, and players can utilize a diverse range of weapons and gadgets to complete their objectives.

The game allows teams of up to four players, and coordinating with your teammates is essential. Whether it’s getting your fellow Helldiver out of a tricky spot or reloading your teammate’s RPG, squads will need to function as a unit.

Helldivers 2 co-op details

Helldivers 2 can be played solo or with up to four players in online co-op. Since there is no dedicated single-player mode or story campaign, solo players will have to tweak the difficulty settings accordingly.
