While you can play Genshin Impact with a controller on a PC and PlayStation, you may be wondering whether you can do the same on mobile. So, here’s everything you need to know about controller support for Genshin Impact on Android and iOS devices.

Genshin Impact may have some high hardware and software requirements, but that hasn’t stopped its massive Android and iOS player base from constantly supporting it. However, one drawback of the portable platform is that it doesn’t let you tweak any in-game setting, which can often be a bummer for many.

Since Genshin Impact has several mechanics and scenarios like wishes, boss fights, events, open-world exploration, and more, it becomes a lot easier to play the game with a controller.

You can play Genshin Impact with a controller on a PC or PlayStation, but what about Android and iOS devices? Here’s everything to know.

Does Genshin Impact have controller support for mobile (Android & iOS) devices?

Genshin Impact supports external controllers on iOS devices, but not Android. Also, Apple users must upgrade their iOS version to iOS 14 or higher to play with controllers.

With an Apple device containing iOS 14 or higher, you can use these external controllers to play Genshin Impact:

  • Xbox Wireless controller (Bluetooth)
  • PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless controller
  • MiFi Bluetooth controllers
  • Razer Kishi Xbox Elite
  • Wireless Controller Series 2.

Make sure to go to Settings > Control Type and choose Controller every time you want to play the game with a controller.

When will Genshin Impact get controller support for Android?

While iOS devices received controller support for Genshin Impact as early as patch 1.3, Android devices are yet to support controllers. The developers have maintained silence for a long time and we still have no official news regarding controller support on Android devices.

Without official support, you can play Genshin Impact with a controller on Android devices with a Razer Kishi V2. The smartphone controller has a feature known as Virtual Controller mode.

With Virtual Controller mode, you can bind physical controller buttons to on-screen controls. This way, you won’t have to rely on other third-party apps that Genshin Impact’s anti-cheat can detect and ban.

In a nutshell, iOS players can enjoy Genshin Impact with a controller, and for Android players, a Razer Kishi V2 controller is the best way until HoYoverse releases controller support officially.

That’s all you need to know about controller support for Genshin Impact.
