The beloved Career Mode returns in F1 24 with a ton of updates and new additions. Take a look at all the new features that EA introduced to F1 24 Career Mode.

F1 24 will be released on May 31 and EA are already revealing some details about the next installment in the racing franchise. Among them is Career Mode, one of the most beloved game modes, which allows players to take control over their F1 journey.

On that note, devs are introducing several updates and improvements to make the experience as realistic and immersive as possible. So, here’s all you need to know about F1 24’s Career Mode.

F1 24 Career Mode driver selection: F1, F2 & Icons

Players of F1 24 Career Mode will be able to create their own Custom driver to start their Formula 1 career or step into the shoes of any current F1 or F2 driver, as well as Icons like Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, and others.

This way, players can build their legacy from scratch, continue the career of a current driver, or further build upon the legacy of legendary past racers.

What are Accolades in F1 24 Career Mode?

F1 24 Accolades are long-term milestones to complete and tied to each Career Modedriver based on their real-world achievements in Formula 1. The Accolades work differently depending on whether you play F1 24 Career Mode as a current F1, an Icons, or a Custom driver.

  • Play with current F1 driver: Your goals will be based on their real-life achievements.
    • Max Verstappen example: Defend the World Champion title.
  • Play with Icons driver: You’ll receive unique goals to build on their legendary careers.
    • Ayrton Senna example: Win the Brazilian GP.
  • Play with Custom driver: You’ll acquire Accolades as you play through the Career Mode.
    • Example: Complete your first practice session.

F1 24 Career Mode: Research & Development upgrades

The driver’s reputation in F1 24’s Career Mode will directly impact the level of support received from their team. A higher reputation will significantly boost the team’s motivation, and a motivated team will traduce to quicker upgrades with smaller chances of failure.

The game will follow a similar system based on the previous title, F1 23, where players can upgrade different car elements (Powertrain, Chassis, Aerodynamic, and Durability) with Resource Points obtained throughout the Career by completing in-game tasks.

Finally, EA Sports announced the introduction of new season modifiers to add a twist to Research and Development in F1 24 Career Mode. These modifiers are season-long effects that will appear randomly during Career Mode and will change the development of your car.

EA Sports haven’t revealed the complete list of modifiers yet, however, below is a small list of those seen in the last Deep Dive:

  • High Inflation: More expensive upgrades
  • Chip Shortage: Limit you to one upgrade per month
  • Aero-Only: You can only develop Aerodynamics
  • Chassis-Only: You can only develop Aerodynamics

Recognition in F1 24 Career Mode

The new recognition system in F1 24 Career Mode allows you to gain more presence in the paddock by achieving on and off-track objectives. The higher your recognition, the greater your value in the market and the more interest other teams will have in hiring you.

It’s up to you to be loyal to the team that gave you an opportunity in Formula 1 or attend secret meetings to move to a more competitive team. Any choice you make will modify the relationships you have built.

What is F1 24 Career Mode Challenge Career?

Challenge Career allows F1 24 players to jump into the shoes of a pre-selected F1 driver and compete in multi-week seasons. This mode will be influenced by community-voting conditions and circuits.

At the end of the multi-week season, the player with the most points will be crowned the champion of Challenge Career.

Two-player career in F1 24 Career mode

EA Sports will bring back the Two-Player mode to F1 24 Career Mode, allowing players to join forces or race as rivals alongside a friend. This multiplayer game mode will have all the features of the Single-Player version but with the possibility to play with a friend.

You can even attend secret meetings without your friend knowing, to start negotiating a contract with another team or use the reworked contract system to gain an advantage over your teammate.
