The Winged Scythe from Elden Ring

There are a bunch of great weapons you can pick up in Elden Ring but only a few match the deathly looks of the Winged Scythe. Read on for how to get the Winged Scythe in Elden Ring and some builds to take it to its full potential.

The Scythe is a weapon type that has been a main staple in Souls games and one that many gravitate to for certain builds. It’s back in Winged form in Elden Ring but if you want to get it paired with the best Ashes of War or maybe a Sorcery, you’ll need to know where to find it.

Let’s get into the Elden Ring Winged Scythe location so you can get to becoming the Grim Reaper of the Lands Between.

Elden Ring Winged Scythe: How to get

The Winged Scythe can be found at Tombsward Ruins at the south of the map. To be more specific, you’ll be looking in Limgrave between the Weeping Evergaol and Tombsward Catacombs if you’ve found either of these locations already.

Once you’ve made it to the Ruins, you’ll need to head down through the small doorway and into the Ruins themselves. Inside, there will be a couple of enemies but if you’d rather avoid these, you can run straight to the back of the area where a small chest is kept. Open this chest and the Winged Scythe will be yours!

Best builds for Winged Scythe in Elden Ring

A +10 Winged Scythe in Elden Ring
You’re going to want to boost your Faith and Dexterity stats to make the most of this weapon

After securing the Elden Ring Winged Scythe, you’re going to want to create a build to suit its properties.

Elden Ring Winged Scythe Faith build

The Winged Scythe, although it deals Bleed damage passively, actually scales with Faith. So, you’re going to want to craft a build that relies more heavily on this stat than any other. With a bunch of Faith points, you’ll be dealing some serious damage with the weapon, and combined with the aforementioned Bleed, it’s fantastic for a variety of boss battles.

Here are some combinations you can use for a Winged Scythe Faith build:

  • Faith level – 45+
  • Dexterity level – 35+
  • Sacred Seal – Erdtree Seal
  • Talismans – Two Fingers Heirloom, Claw Talisman, Shard Of Alexander, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman

Elden Ring Winged Scythe Dexterity build

It also scales with Dexterity quite nicely, so if you’re someone who is going that way with your character, the Winged Scythe can still be a good option. It will deal slightly less damage than a Faith build but still solid all the same.

Here are some combinations you can use for a Winged Scythe Dexterity build:

  • Dexterity level – 45+
  • Faith level – 35+
  • Sacred Seal – Godslayer Seal
  • Talismans – Prosthesis Wearer Heirloom, Claw Talisman, Shard Of Alexander, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman

What’s even more great about the Winged Scythe is its signature move – Angel’s Wings. This one thrusts you into the air and lunges forward for a powerful attack. With one of the above builds in mind, you’ll deal a huge amount of damage overall and even break the enemy’s poise most of the time, making them vulnerable to follow-up hits.

And that’s all you need to know about the Winged Scythe location in Elden Ring and any associated builds you might like to run. For more help with Elden Ring, check out some of our other guides:
