If you’re left wondering which Ash of War is the best to tie to your weapon, here are the five best Ashes of War in the game.

It’d be an understatement to say that Elden Ring has plenty of weapons and items to choose from. You could literally find yourself stalling for hours trying to find the right pick.

To make it easier, we have already curated some of the best bows, daggers, Sorceries, and ranked all the weapons, and here are our picks for the five best Ashes of War in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring: 5 best Ashes of War

Bloodhound’s Step

Bloodhound's Step in Elden Ring
Bloodhound’s Step costs just as much as Stamina as dodging does.

Bloodhound’s Step is arguably the best Ash of War in the game. It makes you temporarily invisible, making it easier to avoid attacks. Given how difficult the game is, Bloodhound’s Step will help you survive with its goodly iframes.

To get Bloodhound’s Step you’ll have to defeat Night’s Cavalry in the Dragonbarrow, Caelid. He’ll be at the bridge in front of the Lenne’s Rise tower, and only spawns on night.

Black Flame Tornado

Black Flame Tornado has some of the highest damage potential for an Ash of War in Elden Ring, but it comes at the cost of long animations. You’ll summon a vortex of black flames around you, and it can toss off smaller enemies.

To get Black Flame Tornado in Elden Ring, you’ll have to beat the Godskin Duo boss.

Seppuku

Seppuku in Elden Ring
Seppuku costs 4 FP.

Seppuku in Elden Ring is a risk-reward Ash of War in Elden Ring. When you use the Ash of War, it’ll have you first pierce your own stomach using the weapon. You’ll then draw power by inflicting damage on yourself, as now you have increased attack power and improved blood loss application.

Seppukku can be found on the Mountaintop of the Giants in Elden Ring, on the frozen lake towards the east. Seppuku can be used on any Sword or Polearm.

Braggart’s Roar

Braggart’s Roar has you roaring, and once you’ve screamed your hearts out, you’ll get certain buffs—physical attack, damage negation, and more. It lasts for 60 seconds and is a good offense as well as defense Ash of War.

The Braggart’s Roar can be obtained through the Iron Ball from Blackguard Big Boggart.

Bloody Slash

Bloody Slash in Elden Ring
Bloody Slash cost 4 FP.

Like Seppuku, Bloody Slash is another bloody Ash of War in Elden Ring and drains your HP whenever you use it, but it has good damage potential. You can tuck in all your Swords.

As for where you can find it, it’ll be dropped by a Godrick Knight at Fort Haight.

That’s everything about the best Ashes of War in the Elden Ring. Of course, there are plenty of equally good ones, but these are the five you should definitely check out and the ones we believe deserve a shout. For more on the game, check out:
