Does Crimson Desert have a release date?

Crimson Desert is yet to receive a release date and the devs have not yet provided a release window for the title either.

That said, speculation and the footage seen at Gamescom in August 2023 would suggest that the title is set for a 2024 release. As soon as more information regarding a release date for Crimson Desert is revealed, we’ll be sure to update you, so stay tuned.

Story

According to the Crimson Desert website, the game’s story sees players entering a “war-torn realm of medieval fantasy, where allegiances are tested and heroes are made.”

You will play as the main character, Macduff, a mercenary who is attempting to band other mercenaries together under his leadership to take power. The lands of Pywel are experiencing a power vacuum after the King of Demeniss has been left in a coma, giving Macduff an opportunity to assemble a team to take the thrown.

As Macduff, you will make your way across the lands of Pywel, meeting and gaining the trust of mercenaries to fight under your banner. Watch out for rival factions and mythical creatures such as Dragons as you pass through the varying lands.

Gameplay

When it comes to gameplay, players can expect melee and ranged combat with some elements of magic. In this medieval fantasy title, expect traditional weapons such as swords and a bow and arrow, as well as a trusty steed to take you across the open world.

You will fight varying enemy types, from rival human factions to mythical creatures. You can also expect RPG elements such as fishing, looting, crafting, and taming animals. There are also various modes of transport such as horse and carriage and even a hot air balloon.
