Assassin’s Creed Jade beta leak reveals fan-favorite character’s return
UbisoftAssassin’s Creed will leap into the Qin Dynasty with Assassin’s Creed Jade, the first full-fledged AC game for Android and iOS. Assassin’s Creed Jade is currently hosting a closed beta and gameplay has leaked, showing off a returning character.
A lot of our storied past will be ventured into by Ubisoft, as the publisher has a slew of Assassin’s Creed games scheduled, including Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade. Some noteworthy games are Assassin’s Creed Codename Red (set in Japan), Codename Hexe (set during the witch trials in the Holy Roman Empire), and, of course, the soon-to-be-released back to roots Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is set in 9th-century Baghdad.
While Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade is a mobile game, it’ll be a full-blown experience like other games in the series and is developed by Ubisoft in collaboration with Tencent’s Level Infinite. Now, lots of gameplay has leaked thanks to the ongoing beta, revealing a past character from Assassin’s Creed game will be in Assassin’s Creed Jade. Spoiler warnings!
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade features Kassandra from Odyssey
UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Jade will see the return of Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (sorry Alexios, Kass is canon!). Multiple gameplay footage has been shared on YouTube, including someone live streaming it, confirming the same. It is unclear whether any form of NDA was signed between players and the publisher, as footage has found its way online and we even got a good look at the gameplay as well.
Assassin’s Creed Jade takes place between Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins and you’ll play as Master Wei Yu’s adopted child. The mission in footage circulating starts with Wei Yu performing the signature leap of faith and is followed by a stealth sequence with the Misthios. There is a bit of combat shown as well, and it looks very familiar to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Other notable information from the leaks is the character customization screen that details the options available for customization.
This isn’t the first time Kass has made an appearance outside Greece as she did crack a few bones with Valhalla’s Eivor in a crossover. Of course, Kassandra still has the Staff of Hermes that keeps her young forever (until she gives it to Layla in the 21st century), so her popping up throughout history isn’t that much of a surprise.
