Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date & platforms
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on October 12, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, EPIC, PC, and Amazon Luna.
Thankfully for fans of Assassin’s Creed on the previous generation of consoles, the devs will be bringing the next installment of the franchise to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it’s likely to be a slight downgrade from the next-gen and PC versions of the game.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage setting, story & main character
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set in Baghdad, between 860 and 870. There are “four unique districts,” and players will be discovering “world events” and interacting with “historical figures that shaped the Golden Age of Baghdad.”
Players will also get to visit Alamut, the legendary setting of the first Assassin’s Creed game, the “home of the Assassins who laid the foundations of the Creed in this heartfelt homage to the game that started it all.”

In Assasin’s Creed Mirage, players will control Basim, a “cunning street thief” looking for answers and justice. His mother died when he was young, and so Basim was left on his own in the streets of Baghdad.
Basim admires the ancient organization known as “The Hidden Ones,” and dreams of joining them one day. Players will control Basim on his journey to honing his abilities and understanding a “new Creed – one that will change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.”
Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay details
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take the franchise back to its roots, as the devs describe it as a “modern take on the features and gameplay that have defined a franchise for 15 years.” Players can expect seamless parkour, which allows Basim to effortlessly traverse the city and landscape in a fast fashion.
Basim will also have access to the “largest assortment of tools to date,” so you can expect to be learning and using a variety of new assassin gadgets.
It seems the game will not feature the RPG-style of gameplay that has been seen in recent Assassin’s Creed games, taking it back to the original but with a modern take including new animations. Players will be using stealth and the legendary hidden blade to take down targets assigned through the Assassin’s bureaus.
