Armored Core 6: What is EN Shortfall?

Armored Core 6 has a limit to how much arsenal you can tuck into your war machines, and without keeping it in check you won’t be able to play missions. One such limit to maintain is EN Load, which can lead to EN Shortfall, here’s what it means and how to fix it in AC6.

While the first few missions will walk you through the basics of Armored Core 6‘s combat, the game isn’t as upfront about some mechanics like EN Shortfall. Given how grueling some of the bosses can be, you’ll be left with no choice but to swap parts and weapons as you progress through the game.

Stronger weapons will be more taxing in terms of load and power consumption, and these parameters are in place for balancing reasons in Armored Core 6, making sure your build doesn’t obliterate Rubicon 3 in one fell swoop.

Here’s how you can fix the EN Shortfall problem and what it means in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.

What is EN Shortfall in Armored Core 6?

Similar to weight load, EN Shortfall in Armored Core 6 means you’re short of energy supply for your mech. To put it simply, your mech is powered by the “Generator” and each part consumes a designated amount of energy from the Generator to run. Each Generator has different power-providing capabilities.

Armored Core 6 has multiple Generators and you can find and swap between the Generators in the Assembly menu. Some parts and guns require heavy energy, while some are power efficient.

The best way to solve the EN Shortfall problem in Armored Core 6 is by swapping to parts that require less energy, or simply switching to a more capable Generator that has more power capacity.

Every time you view a part or a weapon at the bottom, you’re displayed with its individual consumption and your current build stats. You can check the “EN Load” at the bottom left of the section and see which part is consuming the most.
