Arena Breakout: Infinite is a tactical FPS that’s hoping to be the next big extraction shooter on the market, and it’s generating a planet of buzz already. Here’s everything you need to know about Arena Breakout: Infinite, including its platforms and gameplay.

Following the success of Gray Zone Warfare, Arena Breakout: Infinite is another new extraction shooter looking to steal Escape from Tarkov‘s crown in 2024. If you’re a fan of more tactical first-person shooters as opposed to the fast pace of Call of Duty, this could be the game for you.

So, here’s everything you need to know about Arena Breakout: Infinite, from the platforms it’s available on to whether or not it’s free to play.

Is there an Arena Breakout: Infinite release date?

There is currently no official release date for Arena Breakout: Infinite. However, the closed beta went live on May 8, giving fans their first opportunity to get hands-on time with the game.

How to play Arena Breakout: Infinite closed beta

Initially, the Arena Breakout: Infinite closed beta is only available to those who have signed up on the game’s official website. Those randomly selected received emails with beta keys that they could redeem once it launched on May 8, with even more being sent out as the test continues.

The devs have also urged anyone who missed out to keep an eye on their social pages, as they will be announcing how to win codes from Twitch Drops from May 10.

Arena Breakout: Infinite platforms

Arena Breakout: Infinite is only available on Steam at the time of writing and there’s no way to access the game on other platforms. It’s not all bad news though, as a Microsoft PC Store version is “coming soon.”

There is currently no word on whether or not a console version is in the works. Given that developers MoreFun Studio have only released the closed beta for Steam, it’s likely they are focusing on getting the shooter into a solid state on PC platforms but looking at PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Is Arena Breakout: Infinite free to play?

Yes, Arena Breakout: Infinite will be free to play when it eventually launches, meaning you’ll be able to download and hop in for no extra charge.

Arena Breakout: Infinite gameplay

Inspired by Tarkov, Arena Breakout: Infinite is a tactical extraction shooter that sees players explore the Dark Zone, a large map full of both real players and AI enemies. The ultimate goal is to collect valuable resources and loot, before extracting and starting a new run.

This can be done by scouring the various locations around the map or completing missions. However, enemy squads will also be looking to take you out and steal your loot for themselves, bringing high stakes to each encounter.

Just like Gray Zone Warfare, Arena Breakout: Infinite focuses heavily on realism. This means that health is low compared to other shooters, your character can sustain injuries that need to be healed, and ammo needs to be conserved.

With all this in mind, spotting a team of real players can lead to intense standoffs, as both squads need to decide if they’ve got the resources, skill, and position to take them on, or risk losing what they’ve found so far.
