A recent update to the LEGO Fortnite game mode quietly fixed the popular chest glitch that many players benefitted from. However, the community looks to have discovered a new and effective method to duplicate their resources.

It hasn’t taken long for LEGO Fortnite to become incredibly popular, but it’s important to remember that the game mode is still in its infancy. The survival-crafting game was added to Fortnite following the release of Chapter 5 Season 1 and while its player base already sits in the millions, some elements of the game are yet to be refined.

This includes a few rough edges that let certain glitches exploit the game’s mechanics. Epic Games are usually quick to spot and fix exploits but one that sneaked under their radar until recently was the popular chest glitch.

Given the absence of a repair system and the low durability of tools, players hatched a clever glitch that magically repaired used items. They did so by placing degraded tools and weapons in a chest before smashing it into bits. What remained were all their original items but in perfect condition. This workaround functioned as a makeshift repair system until it was patched through a recent update.

The community did not react kindly to the fix and some players seem to have moved toward other known exploits, one of which is relatively simple but gets the job done. Known as the LEGO Fortnite duplication glitch, the exploit is an easy way to multiply resources.

All it requires is to create a station, quickly destroy it, collect the dropped resources, and then immediately exit to the lobby. If done correctly, players can jump back in and see the station still intact with all the collected resources in their inventory. The glitch has emerged as a great way to farm rare resources such as Obsidian by crafting higher-tier stations before breaking them and quickly quitting.

Given how widespread and simple the glitch is, it’s likely that it will be patched soon. Until then, it looks like players can spam it to their heart’s content.
