How to open Cold Blooded Vaults in Fortnite: Vault Keycard location & rewards
Fortnite’s 23.40 update has brought the brand-new Cold Blooded Vaults as part of the Heist event, so here’s everything you need to know about opening them.
Fortnite Chapter 4’s first season will wrap up in March, but Epic Games are keeping the new content coming with weekly updates. The 23.40 update has brought the Most Wanted event, bringing new Quests, the Heat Level mechanic, and Cold Blooded Vaults.
You can get some powerful loot for opening up these Cold Blooded Vaults, so here’s everything you need to know about accessing Cold Blooded Vaults including the Vault Keycard and rewards.

Fortnite Cold Blooded Vault locations
Fortnite’s Cold Blooded Vaults can be found at Faulty Splits, Shattered Slabs, and Brutal Bastion.
The Vault will be marked by a vault door symbol on your map, and you’ll know you’re in the right place when Cold Blooded members and a boss are in the same building.
How to open Cold Blooded Vaults in Fortnite
There are three Cold Blooded Vaults around the Fortnite map. To open a Cold Blooded Vault in Fortnite, you need to defeat the Cold Blooded Boss and pick up the Vault Keycard. This Keycard will make a trail pop up, leading you to the Vault Door.
Here’s everything you need to do:
- Head to Faulty Splits, Shattered Slabs, or Brutal Bastion.
- Head towards the vault door symbol on the minimap.
- Defeat the Cold Blooded Boss.
- Pick up the Legendary Vault Keycard.
- Take the Keycard to the Vault door and use it on the terminal.
- Head inside the Vault and collect the rewards.
Just be wary, as opening the Cold Blooded Vaults and eliminating players will raise your Heat level in a match.
What’s inside Cold Blooded Vaults in Fortnite?
Fortnite’s Cold Blooded Vaults contain a ton of high-tier loot, including Chests, Rare Chests, and a Faction Chest. These Vaults should give you one of the new Exotic weapons:
- Heisted Breacher Shotgun
- Heisted Explosive Assault Rifle
- Heisted Accelerant Shotgun
- Heisted Run ‘N’ Gun SMG
- Heisted Blink Mag SMG
Plus, the Cold Blooded Boss who drops the Vault Keycard will also drop one of these new Exotic weapons, so you can come away with a seriously powerful kit.
