Fortnite is celebrating May 4 with a brand-new Star Wars event, featuring an exclusive Chewbacca skin to unlock. So, here’s everything you need to know about how to get the iconic Wookie.

The Fortnite 29.40 update brings yet another Star Wars event to the game and this time it’s taking over Battle Royale, LEGO mode, and even Festival. As part of the May the Fourth crossover, players can unlock themselves a Chewbacca skin for a limited time.

How to unlock Chewbacca Fortnite skin

At first, the only way to unlock the Chewbacca skin in Fortnite is by purchasing the LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure Premium Track. Although there is a free version, Chewie is only available once you spend 1,400 V-Bucks to access the premium rewards.

Luckily, the Wookie skin is an instant reward, so there’s no need to complete any objectives or grind XP once purchased. That being said, the LEGO Pass is full of Star Wars rewards, including a Build of the Mos Eisley Cantina, so there’s plenty of incentive to hop into LEGO mode and start earning Studs.

Those who purchase the Event Pass and unlock Chewbacca will gain access to both the regular and LEGO variants of the skin, so you can play as the legendary character no matter which mode you prefer.

How long is Chewbacca skin in Fortnite?

The Rebel Adventure rewards are live in Fortnite until July 23, 2024, giving players just less than 12 weeks to get the Chewbacca skin.

For those with no interest in LEGO mode, the devs mentioned in the official blog that all of the rewards, including Chewbacca, aren’t exclusive and teased that you “may be able to purchase them in the Fortnite Shop at a later date.”

However, there is currently no word on when Chewie will arrive in the store, so we’ll be sure to update this page once we know more.
