Fortnite players divided on keeping “gimmick” weapon mods after Chapter 5 Season 1

Fortnite players were introduced to weapon attachments in Chapter 5 Season 1. However, some players believe that Epic Games should keep it as a seasonal feature.

As part of the current seasonal theme in Fortnite, players can use different attachments on their weapons in the game. This makes weapons more customizable and efficient.

However, players feel that this weapon attachment feature should remain as a seasonal one, rather than carry over to the next big update.

In this regard, ‘NoBeinz’ took to Reddit to share their opinion with other players within the Fortnite community. They said, “Each gun should be unique and attachments make it feel less like Fortnite. With the more realism, rebellion feel of this season I think it fits this theme, but going into next season? Definitely not.”

A player responded to this by saying that these weapon attachments could stay for the entirety of Chapter 5 in Fortnite, just like the augments stayed through Chapter 4. They also said, “I don’t mind them at all, I feel like it adds more depth to gunplay, and having the 5 slots makes sure it’s not overly complicated.”

On the other hand, a fan mentioned that everyone should give these weapon attachments some more time, and drew parallels with the Mythic weapons and Vaults that were introduced in Chapter 2 Season 2.

They said, “This same thing happened with Vaults and Mythics in Chapter 2: Season 2, and well, that was Fortnite’s second prime. We should give attachments more chances. And yes, Epic, PLEASE more mod benches. That alone would make the system much better.”

Whether Epic Games removes weapon attachments once Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 ends, still remains to be seen. But for now, be sure to check out how to use Survivor Medallions in Fortnite, and how to complete all Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Week 9 challenges.
