Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 is the next major update in the game and will see the arrival of a lot of new content, including a new storyline. So, here’s everything that you need to know about it, from the release date to the rumored theme.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 has given players a heap of content to enjoy, and no doubt Epic Games will have even more up their sleeve leading up to the next season.

Speaking of which, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will be the next big update for the free-to-play title, and players are already looking forward to it. Season 2 brought the Greek gods theme, but what will Season 3 bring to Fortnite?

Here’s everything we know so far about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, including its release date, rumored theme, and more.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 release date

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 is due to arrive on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 2 AM ET / 11 PM PT / 6 PM GMT (May 23). This is based on the end date for Season 2’s Battle Pass and is usually an accurate way to calculate a new season’s start date, but if things change we’ll be sure to update this section.

Once Season 2 winds down and the devs finish up their downtime after the season’s end, Season 3 for Chapter 5 will get underway.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 rumored theme

According to rumors, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 could feature an apocalyptic theme, as a result of a war between the Greek gods and those who oppose them in the Fortnite universe.

This is mainly because of voice lines from The Oracle, a new character in Fortnite, which suggest that “doom is on the horizon,” mentioning black skies and choking dust. This character appears over the four Scrying Pools across the Chapter 5 Season 2 map, which you can interact with to talk to The Oracle.

The Oracle also states that “Zeus wants to end mortal kind,” potentially hinting at a war between mortals and the gods, which fits Season 2’s name, Myths & Mortals. Perhaps the Midas is the hero that Fortnite’s mortals need, who has returned in Season 2.

The war could even culminate at the end of Season 2 with a live event, ushering in Season 3, which will feature a war-torn map. It’s important to remember that this is all just rumors and speculation, so take it all with a pinch of salt.

Car hijack feature leaked for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

Keeping in line with the Apocalypse theme for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, leaks suggest that a brand new mechanic involving hijacking cars will be featured in the new season.

As per these leaks, you will be able to hijack a car when it’s moving. This mechanic was popularised by the GTA franchise and will be seen in Fortnite as well, should the leaks turn out to be true.

New collaborations in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

According to the leaked Fortnite 2024 roadmap that surfaced on 4chan, Chapter 5 Season 3 is set to see multiple collaborations, including one with Pirates of the Caribbean and Metallica.

While the Metallica collaboration will mainly be for Fortnite festival, the Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration will be seen in the Battle Royale mode and probably in LEGO Fortnite as well.

We also expect content such as a new Battle Pass and fresh collaborations for Season 3 of Fortnite Chapter 5, but there are currently no leaks or confirmed details regarding this.

Stay tuned, as will be updating this piece with any new information. For now, check out some of our other guides on Fortnite:
