With Final Fantasy 7 getting a three game remake treatment, you’ll likely be playing through them all to get to the grand finale. As FF7 Rebirth is the second instalment, those who played through the first game are wondering if you can carry over save data. We answer your save transfer questions below.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming February 29, 2024, and the game follows up the story left by Remake in 2020. With a lot of hours poured into the first part, players are wondering if they’ll be able to use all the bonuses they’ve earned after hours of hard work.

Multi-part RPGs are well known for save transferring between games, where decisions or even items can be passed into the next entry.

So, here’s if you will be able to transfer anything from Final Fantasy 7 Remake into Rebirth when it launches.

Will Final Fantasy 7 Remake save data carry over to Rebirth?

No, your saved data won’t carry over to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, as it was confirmed that the game will be a fresh start for Cloud’s party. However, you can obtain a Kupo Charm and an Adventure set bonus for having an FF7 Remake save data on your PS5, regardless of the platform.

FF7 Rebirth save transfer bonuses
Save game bonuses include unique Summon materia.

Multiple save data from Remake, Intermission, and the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo will unlock special items and Summon materia in Rebirth. But, all levels, weapons, material, and equipment from the first game won’t be available in the new Avalanche adventures.

At least there’s something to make those long hours count, as Summon materia provides hefty stat bonuses to the equipped character. For more on FF7 Rebirth, check out our other pages:
