FIFA 23 Team of the Year is finally here, and the final squad has been officially revealed. Here’s everything you need to know about FIFA 23 TOTY, including who made the cut to when the special cards will arrive in Ultimate Team.

FIFA 23 players have been treated to a ridiculous number of promos since it launched back in September, from old favorites like Ones to Watch, to new cards like Out of Position.

But of all the events that EA have rolled out, none can come close to the excitement or prestige of Team of the Year. This fan-favorite promo is always one of the standouts on the FUT calendar, bringing some of the most valuable cards the game has to offer, and FIFA 23 TOTY is no exception.

With 2023 underway, it’s officially time to look back at the best players of the last 12 months. The FIFA 23 Team of Year has been unveiled, and we’ve got all the details below.

FIFA 23 TOTY start date

FIFA 23 Team of the Year got underway on Friday, January 20, with the full squad officially being announced the day before.

The full squad has been revealed, and Attackers, Midfielders, and Defenders all had their time in packs before the full squad was made available in packs on January 26.

An in-game menu revealed that the TOTY squad would only remain in packs for 24 hours. However, many speculated that this was the result of an error in which the graphic was displaying incorrect information, which EA later confirmed.

The current group of TOTY cards will remain in packs until February 3.

There is also a TOTY 12th Man vote during the promo, so one more player will make the official TOTY squad.

Lionel Messi made his way to the FIFA 23 TOTY as an attacker.

FIFA 23 TOTY revealed

On January 19, EA SPORTS finally pulled back the curtain and showed off the final TOTY squad. The 100 hundred nominees have been whittled down to just 11, leaving only the very best of 2022.

As expected the game’s biggest stars have made the cut and the front three is particularly frightening. Check out the FIFA 23 Team of the Year below:

What is FIFA 23 Team of the Year?

Much as the name suggests, FIFA 23 Team of the Year is the 11 players that fans believe have been the best in the world over the last 12 months. EA come up with a number of nominees, then FUT fans can pick their own TOTY XI based on their performances and the number of trophies they’ve won.

The players with the most votes are handed a special TOTY card in Ultimate Team, with hugely upgraded stats and a slick blue design. These are often some of the best and the most expensive items in the entire game, so packing one can make all the difference to your team.
