The end of the partnership between EA Sports and FIFA has left a community wondering if the new EA FC 24 will have official licenses for leagues, teams, and players. Here’s everything you need to know about licenses in EA FC 24.

From 2023 onwards, the traditional FIFA franchise will be known as EA Sports FC due to the end of the agreement between the developer and the football entity. During this time since the revelation of the new name, the development team shared the new features for all modes of EA FC 24.

Among the announcements that have caught the community’s attention, the introduction of the best women’s football players to Ultimate Team and the possibility of building mixed-gender teams were the most significant.

However, the question that most people are asking is whether it will be possible to play with real players and teams within EA FC 24. Here’s everything you need to know about EA FC 24 licenses.

Will EA FC 24 feature licensed leagues, teams & players?

As EA Sports announced, EA FC 24 will include fully licensed leagues, teams, and players, just like the FIFA series did. In fact, the dev team has confirmed that “19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums, and 30 leagues” will appear.

EA’s partnership with major leagues like the Premier League, LaLiga, Ligue 1, Serie A and the Bundesliga are rolling over into EA FC 24, along with other divisions like the MLS. When the EA Sports FC logo was officially revealed in April 2023, many leagues even tweeted to confirm their involvement.

According to the Authenticity tab, EA FC 24 will feature official licenses for the most significant international men’s football competitions, such as the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. It will also introduce the top women’s football leagues, including the Spanish Liga F, the German Frauen-Bundesliga, and, of course, the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Unfortunately, it does likely spell the end of the World Cup in EA Sports FC, as the tournament is produced by FIFA.

Although past games featured the FIFA branding, the licenses were held by EA Sports themselves, allowing them to keep the level of authenticity that has made their projects the number one football franchise in gaming.

While the rebranding of such a long-running series will take some getting used to, fans can rest assured that EA FC 24 will feature the real teams and players they’ve grown to love.
