The Diablo 4 Season 3 update has not started off well for players, and they are now calling out Blizzard for making the content feel “cheap” and “repetitive.”

Diablo 4 Season 3 was released on January 23 to a dismal reaction from players. From issues with traps and the Seneschal Companions being “irrelevant,” players are yet to find much to feel positive about this season.

The new update did bring a lot of new content for fans, but some are saying that most of it is just re-used content from previous seasons.

In a post on Reddit, ‘meatwadinchargee’ said, “The new monster type of constructs are just slightly altered monsters of ones that already exist, scorpions and spiders. They seriously couldn’t come up with an original idea or did they purposely cut corners on the design to save money?”

Players in the comments agreed with this sentiment, saying that Season 3 feels more like recycled content than anything more.

“I got to the Son of Malphas boss fight in the seasonal campaign and it was the exact same boss as the demon boss from the fist campaign dungeon who slams his hammer on the ground that got memed on super hard for having zero mechanics,” one player explained.

Beyond the recycled content, players also felt that the Diablo 4 structure took advantage of their loyalty to the game in an effort to make money.

“Company does the bare minimum to try to get you to spend your money on microtransactions. They talk a lot and make it sound good when in reality there’s little there,” one player commented on the thread.

The disappointment in the Diablo 4 community stems from these promises that Blizzard made that players feel they haven’t followed through with. Players feel that the focus is not in the right place, and the seasons have just gotten worse since release.

“It’s like Blizz had their A team develop the main story and quest line. Then they all disappeared and left their C team to maintain the game and develop seasons only as a cash cow,” the OP said.

Blizzard have not made any statements in response to player complaints, but we will keep you updated with any communications and changes that come in future.
