The Destiny 2 Anteater error code is one that has been plaguing Guardians since what seems like the inception of the game. Here, we’ll run you through the possible reasons why you might be receiving this, and any fixes we have, allowing you to get to looting and shooting.

Error codes in Destiny 2 are certainly annoying, usually preventing you from playing the actual game. There are a fair few of them, each needing a different fix.

We’ve covered both Weasel and Buffalo errors in the past, but here, as previously stated, we’ll be focusing on Anteater.

How to fix Destiny 2 Anteater error code

If you are experiencing the Destiny 2 Anteater error, here are all the potential fixes we have to overcome it as fast as possible.

Check your internet connection

What we first recommend is that you check your internet connection on the device you’re playing on. If you are connected successfully with no issues, then this hopefully rules out that it is a problem on your end.

If you’re connected with issues or have lost connection completely, however, this is the cause.

Change your connection method

If you are still encountering Anteater, however, it could instead be due to the type of connection you’re using. By this we mean if you’re connected via mobile hotspot, wireless, or wired.

Usually, Anteater errors are far more frequent over mobile hotspot and wireless connections, so grab an ethernet cable and hardwire your device. If the Anteater errors subside, you’ve figured out the cause and now all you need to do is a bit of cable management.

Perform a restart

An age-old trick in the tech space but one that sometimes eliminates the Anteater error is to restart the device you’re playing on.

Performing a hard reset of your console or PC will allow you to freshly boot up Destiny 2, reauthenticating your connection to the servers, and hopefully mitigating the pesky error.

Check developer socials

If all of the above haven’t enabled you to overcome the Destiny 2 Anteater error, don’t lose hope. What it might actually be is that the problem isn’t due to you at all and instead, is on Bungie.

To check this, we suggest you head over to any of the Bungie or Destiny 2 social media accounts and see if there have been any posts about the frequency of Anteater errors increasing.

The fix now is to simply wait the issue out and the Destiny 2 servers should stabilize enough for you to keep a solid connection throughout the various activities you’ll be partaking in.

What is the Destiny 2 Anteater error?

Anteater is yet another error code that can surface when playing Destiny 2 and occurs when you’re booted out of the game world.

The official word from Bungie is that Anteater is a “general networking error,” essentially meaning that it is directly related to your connection to Destiny 2. So, to get it fixed, you may need to look close to home.

And that’s all the potential solutions we have for fixing the Destiny 2 Anteater error code. We hope you’ve managed to get rid of the issue so you can get back to enjoying Nightfalls, Raids, Trials of Osiris, or any other activity in this ever-expanding live service title.
