Warzone is set to receive a major overhaul when Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 arrives, but the devs have confirmed that Ranked Play won’t be available after the update.

The launch of Modern Warfare 3 on November 10 has the entire community excited, no matter how they prefer to play. Multiplayer fans are being treated to 16 classic maps from the original MW2, and battle royale players also have plenty to look forward to.

As part of the Season 1 update, Warzone will receive the new Urzikstan map along with many of the weapons and features from Modern Warfare 3.

However, the devs have announced that Warzone Ranked Play won’t be available once the MW3 integration takes place.

Warzone Ranked Play won’t return in MW3 Season 1 update

Following the CoD Next reveal event, it’s been confirmed Ranked Play won’t be available again in Warzone until 2024. Many had hoped that the competitive mode would carry over from the previous iteration of the game, but it seems that players will have to wait for the mode to be added back.

This is likely to give the team time to adjust to the new Urzikstan map and ensure that Ranked Play works well with all of the new features being added.

It hasn’t been confirmed when in 2024 Warzone Ranked Play will return to the game, but fans will hope it isn’t a long wait. The mode came to Warzone 2 with the Season 3 Reloaded update back in May, so the community will be hopeful that the team can reintroduce it quickly.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted on the official Warzone Ranked Play release date as soon as it’s confirmed.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the new After-Market Parts feature and the future of the popular DMZ mode.
