Warzone players beg devs to avoid “stupid” Rebirth Island changes

Rebirth Island is confirmed to arrive on Warzone sometime in early 2024, but players are already worried about “stupid” changes that will strip away what made the original version “so much better.”

Warzone Season 2 is now well underway introducing all the usual you’d expect from the battle royale, including new weapons, modes, and plenty of balancing changes. Also, the seasonal update brought the return of Fortune’s Keep, including a couple of changes to the map.

Even though we don’t have official word on the exact date of Rebirth Island‘s return, several leaks suggest it could arrive in Season 3. However, fans are worried that it could arrive with changes that will “definitely ruin it.”

Reddit user ‘Vergy’ made the post on the CODWarzone subreddit, praying devs to “keep Rebirth true to its roots.” OP said that they’re “not a fan of the changes” and don’t want to see any drastic changes to the beloved Rebirth Island map.

Many players agreed with the OP and feared that Warzone would “blow up” a part of the map without a proper reason: “Oh, there’s gonna be a big hole in the middle of it, you know it.”

Plenty of players, meanwhile, said that they’re fine with a couple of changes, so as long as there is a different excuse this time: “If it does change, it better not be because of an earthquake again.” Others, however, said any changes are going to make it worse, “I don’t know how, but they’ll 100% add some stupid s**t that nobody ever asked and make the map worse.”

One particular gameplay feature fans said they don’t want to see being added is swimming, “You know they’re going to flood the basements or create a crater or something stupid just to justify their awful swimming feature that no one wanted.”

Rebirth Island did receive a few changes during its initial few returns, but most of them were well received by the player base. If the map is indeed arriving during Season 3, then we should hear from Activision soon enough.
