Warzone hackers have evolved again to completely trick anti-cheat
ActivisionCheaters are an ongoing problem in Warzone, with many players reporting that their matches have been ruined. Now, though, it seems that hacks have evolved to the point they can actually turn themselves off and back on to avoid detection from RICOCHET anti-cheat.
Warzone Season 2 has been mostly well-received by the community, with players loving the new BP50 AR and RAM-9 SMG, as well as the return of Fortune’s Keep and Ranked Play. However, there has also been an influx of cheaters as social media has been flooded with reports.
The devs did post an update on how their anti-cheat software, RICOCHET, is combating hackers, but many felt that simply banning the accounts wasn’t enough. Despite their best efforts, PC players in particular often find themselves in lobbies with enemies that are impossible to kill or can see through walls.
Now, it appears that the fight against hackers in Warzone is about to get even tougher, as cheats have evolved to be able to easily get around RICOCHET.
CoD content creator ‘Zachdubs’ shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) claiming that “Warzone cheats have gotten so advanced they’re now able to turn off automatically in-game when being “investigated” by Ricochet.”
He accompanied this with a video of what appeared to be a Discord chat full of players using cheats, where they were discussing the number of “screenshots cleared” by their software.
According to Zachdubs, when anti-cheat is investigating a Warzone player, it is constantly taking screenshots of their gameplay to try and spot any foul tactics. But, the cheats have developed so far that they can actually disable themselves for a millisecond to avoid capture, then reenable themselves straight after.
Players in the chat mentioned they avoided detection 44 times in just one game, while the streamer mentioned he’d heard cases of up to 100 in a single match. With all this in mind, he added that “we are so chalked” and that RICOCHET is “lacking” when it comes to dealing with the issue.
While it’s unlikely that hackers will completely disappear from Warzone, players will be hoping that more protection is put in place. We’ll have to wait and see how the devs respond as we head towards Season 2 Reloaded and Season 3.
