Warzone Bootcamp is a brand-new training mode in Season 3, but what exactly is it? Here’s everything you need to know about Warzone Bootcamp.

Warzone Season 3 brings plenty of fresh content to the game, with major additions like the returning Rebirth Island and new weapons stealing the show. But, the devs have also revealed Bootcamp, a new mode that’s drastically different from the other playlists featured in the game.

So, what is Warzone Bootcamp? Here’s everything you need to know.

Warzone Bootcamp explained

Warzone Bootcamp is a training mode that features a mix of real players and bots to help you practice the many elements of the game. Matches are made up of 44 players; 20 of them are real in squads of four, while the rest of the lobby is filled with bots.

The idea is to give less experienced players the chance to get a feel for the game by taking on easier opponents, while still giving them a taste of how to fight against a proper enemy.

Since this new mode has a much smaller player count than regular lobbies, each match takes place on a random section of the larger Urzikstan map.

In the Season 3 blog, the devs confirmed that public events and advanced Contacts won’t be present in Bootcamp, suggesting that all other features, from the Gulag to Buy Stations, will appear as they look to show players the ropes.

As a training area, it’s “designed to help new players build confidence for their first official drop-in,” rather than somewhere for CoD veterans to grind. So, XP for weapons, Operators, and the Battle Pass is limited in Warzone Bootcamp and it can’t be used to progress any challenges, from camos to Daily or Weekly objectives.

While some players may be concerned to hear that bots are arriving in the game, the devs addressed these fears when announcing the mode, reassuring fans that “Warzone Bootcamp is the only mode for Call of Duty: Warzone featuring bots.”
