Theater Mode returning in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

As part of the Blackout beta menu, there’s a new option for Theater in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. It’s currently locked, so it will become available in the final game at launch on October 12.

Theater Mode allows players to record, edit, and capture clips directly from the game — without third party equipment. Theater mode was first introduced back in Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3. It has been in every Black Ops game, but not in some other titles.

Theater Mode will allow players to auto record their gameplay, and be able to edit and share it to social channels. It’s one of the most requested features for Call of Duty yearly, but Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward opted to allow PS4 Share and Xbox One share features to take priority over the development of the theater mode.

With the way theater mode is showcased in the menu, it looks like it will be have all gameplay footage for all three modes recorded and available for players to see and share.
