Modern Warfare 3’s campaign hides an easy-to-miss Makarov Easter egg, and Reddit users are all over it. Captain Price could’ve captured Vladimir Makarov way sooner if he had noticed this during the Flashpoint mission.

Call of Duty’s campaigns are always full of secret details for fans to find and theorize about, with many found in the Modern Warfare franchise. MW3 has one Easter egg that might be the biggest one so far, but players are apparently missing it.

Captain Price and Soap’s mission to capture Vladimir Makarov could’ve ended sooner if they paid a little extra attention during one of the Modern Warfare 3 campaign objectives. Their goal to take down and capture Makarov starts during the Flashpoint mission and takes players back to Verdansk.

With an extra pair of eyes, you can catch Makarov while getting back to the old Verdansk map before its destruction in the Modern Warfare 3 campaign. When you go inside the Stadium to stop him, an iconic vehicle is the key to spotting the character early.

If you pay close attention, you’ll see Makarov standing inside an ambulance on the tunnel, exactly like the end scene of the ‘No Russian’ mission in the original MW2. Price and Soap won’t see him at all, and the weird part is that Makarov himself also gets surprised that Task Force 141 members didn’t see him.

Reddit user ‘benmetalhead’ took the finding to the MW3 subreddit and commenters quickly started to react. Some called it “sick” and a “cool detail,” while others said that it is easy to miss since there’s a lot of heat in that mission, with a “bunch of civilians in front of you as well as cars swerving around.”

MW3 campaign reviews are not great, and fans commented on this matter under the OP’s post too. “These are the kinds of details that would have been cool to have with the open mission style etc more often,” said user ‘Devastator2016.’
