Here’s everything you need to know about CoD Mobile’s Season 4 update, including the new weapon and theme.

Call of Duty: Mobile may have some competition with Warzone Mobile, but the devs of the original mobile Call of Duty experience have vowed to continue providing updates and supporting the game, announcing the Season 4 update.

CoD Mobile Season 4 will introduce a bunch of new content to the game, so for those interested, here’s everything you need to know, including the release date, new weapon, multiplayer mode, and more.

CoD Mobile Season 4 release date

CoD Mobile Season 4 is set to drop on April 17, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET / 1 AM BST (April 18).

The new season is titled Fool’s Gold, and it will launch with a load of new content, including a new treasure hunter-themed Battle Pass and more.

MG42 LMG & RC-XD arrive in CoD Mobile Season 4

The MG42 LMG is CoD Mobile Season 4’s brand-new weapon and the update will also bring the RC-XD Scorestreak to the game.

The MG42 is a classic weapon that’s been seen in many installments of Call of Duty including Vanguard and the Black Ops titles. The weapon has a fast fire rate and a big magazine, making it a great LMG for taking on multiple enemies.

The RC-XD is an iconic Scorestreak first seen in Black Ops, allowing players to drop a small remote-controlled car that explodes and kills enemies. Originally, the RC-XD was remote-detonated, but it seems the CoD Mobile version requires you to collide with an enemy to set it off.

New Dropkick mode in CoD Mobile Season 4

The Season 4 update for CoD Mobile also brings Dropkick, a new multiplayer mode that sees players competing for “control over a single briefcase” that will be marked on the map at the start of the match.

To earn points, pick up this briefcase and hold it for as long as possible. The team with the briefcase will not respawn once they are killed until it is dropped, giving the opposing team an advantage to get their hands on the objective.

If you’re holding the briefcase, you can only wield a pistol, while also being able to use the case as a melee weapon. Your position will also be marked on the map for the enemy team. The squad that reaches the target score first wins.
