A new leak claims Call of Duty 2025 will feature fan-favorite Black Ops 2 map remasters, following what Sledgehammer Games is doing with 2023’s Modern Warfare 3.

While fans eagerly await the upcoming release of Modern Warfare 3 later this year, which brings back several fan-favorite features, the addition of Zombies for the first time in the MW saga, and more, leaks for future titles in the franchise continue to surface.

Recently, new leaks suggest that Call of Duty 2025 might incorporate a full collection of remastered Black Ops 2 maps. This would follow the inclusion of all Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps in their remastered form in 2023’s Modern Warfare 3.

Leak suggests BO2 maps remastered for CoD 2025

On September 10, CoD leaker el_bobberto revealed in an X (formerly Twitter) post that Call of Duty 2025 allegedly intends to incorporate Black Ops 2 multiplayer remastered maps into the game, as a follow-up to their scheduled 2024 release.

Additionally, TheMW2Ghost, another reputable Call of Duty leaker, mentioned they also “heard similar that Black Ops 2 maps were in the remaster pipeline.” This would follow what Sledgehammer Games are doing with this year’s Modern Warfare 3, including all 12 original maps from MW2 (2009) remastered at the game’s launch.

Keep in mind this decision could undergo changes throughout development, potentially depending on the reception of MW2’s remastered maps in Modern Warfare 3, which has been surprisingly positive despite some rumored changes that didn’t resonate well with players.

Similar to MW3, Black Ops 2 featured 14 multiplayer maps upon its initial release in 2012. If the leaked information proves accurate, these maps could potentially be remastered for Call of Duty 2025, rumored to be developed by Treyarch, possibly including the following fan-favorite maps:

  1. Aftermath
  2. Cargo
  3. Carrier
  4. Drone
  5. Express
  6. Hijacked
  7. Meltdown
  8. Overflow
  9. Plaza
  10. Raid
  11. Slums
  12. Standoff
  13. Turbine
  14. Yemen

With two upcoming Call of Duty titles on the horizon and a plethora of decisions to be made in the interim, coupled with this game’s anticipated release around November 2025, it remains uncertain what will come to fruition concerning the game’s maps.
