The Warzone 2 devs finally implemented a long-awaited change to the frustrating Gas Mask animation in Season 4 Reloaded.

The Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded update arrived on July 12 and it brought the new MX Guardian, a map rotation feature, the Temp V Field Upgrade, and a high-profile The Boys crossover.

While new content is always welcome, some players are more concerned with quality-of-life updates that improve the state of the game. When it comes to Warzone 2, players have a long wishlist of changes. Luckily, some of those long-awaited changes were addressed with the Season 4 Reloaded update.

One of those changes involved making an adjustment to the infuriating Gas Mask animation that would often get in players’ way during critical moments.

According to the Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded patch notes, the Gas Mask animation will no longer get in the way of players pulling their parachute: “The Gas Mask animation that automatically starts while Players are airborne will be interrupted if a Player decides to pull their parachute.”

Previously, once the Gas Mask animation started, players would be stuck in an unbreakable loop, often resulting in their untimely deaths. Following the change, airborne players will be able to interrupt the Gas Mask animation by pulling their parachutes.

Essentially, the ability to break up the Gask Mask animation if it begins at an unfortunate moment, should lead to less frustrating deaths in Warzone 2 following the Season 4 Reloaded update.

If you’re hopping into Warzone 2 matches following the update, don’t forget that the ISO 45 received a nerf to its close-range damage. As the meta settles following balance changes, you may want to give the Lachmann Sub a try.
