Warzone 2’s looting system has received plenty of criticism since the sequel launched, but the Season 2 Reloaded update has introduced a simple change that makes picking up Armor Plates much easier.

Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded has arrived, and it’s brought plenty of fresh content to the battle royale. Players have got a new Marksman Rifle to learn, as well as a TMNT crossover and St. Patrick’s Day event to look forward to.

The mid-season patch also introduced a host of gameplay changes, from buffs and nerfs for many of the game’s weapons to new accessibility features.

Another quality-of-life change that arrives in Season 2 Reloaded brings back a looting feature from the original Warzone, and it’s set to make picking up plates significantly easier.

Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded introduces Auto-Looting for Armor Plates

The Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded patch notes revealed an “Auto-Looting” system that applies specifically to Armor Plates, which allows players to pick up extra protection just by running over them.

“As Armor Plates are a critical part of the gameplay loop, Players will now automatically pick up Armor Plates as long as they have available inventory or Backpack space,” said the devs.

This means there will be no need to stop and pick up fresh plates individually, as they will be automatically collected if you have somewhere to store them.

Looting has been a hot topic ever since Warzone 2 first arrived, with the sequel originally opting to use a Backpack system. This was undone at the start of Season 2 when the devs reverted to the ‘vomit’ loot system that was present in the original.

This latest change marks another feature from Warzone 1 that was scrapped in the follow-up but has since been added back, joining 1v1 Gulags and customizable Perks in that respect.

The feature seems to have been well-received so far, with many players replying to the tweet above to welcome the addition.

“Pieces of Warzone 1 are coming back slowly, u love to see it,” said one player. “Internally screaming with happiness,” agreed another.

Season 2 Reloaded also removed the distracting ‘Armor Break’ text from the screen, and each major update is adding more and more quality-of-life changes, so players will hope to see the game refined further in Warzone 2 Season 3.
